Small boats go adrift among flowing bodies, having messy and restless contours in the wave motion, made of opposing tensions and pushings. The disquieting connotation of the impetuous natural force is conveyed by quick brushstrokes that frame the scene then mitigated by the breach that two red thunderbolts open in a sky rift, thus revealing a breaking down of planes in depth: the dimension of “the calm after the storm”.
