“Sardinia” Scents, poetry, sanctity of Sardinia, Bent coasts dancing in the sea, Like mothers’ bellies sunken by salt. Then the earth emerges towards the sky: Here is Nuoro, the Baronia and the Barbagia. The night draws long women’s shadows, slow ones, like prayers confused by the deaf echo of “cowbells” spreading in the mountains. And the last sun glides away, sliding on the wounded corks, That tell about knowledge, dignity and wisdom.
